Grades Update

Well I got an A in the Concept Development class!!! I have a few weeks to relax for the next class doesn't start until January 12th. Time to catch up on stuff around the house that I have been putting off. Plus being the end of the year I need to upgrade software on the PC. So I will be busy for awhile. Hope everyone has a Wonderful New Year!

Remodeled Display

I had to many graphics pulling the eye away from the flame. I needed more ease of use to pull out the lighters. And I should have had the hierarchy of the Logo more prominent. Other than that it was okay. I hope.

Finished Display

This is a picture of my finished display for the final yesterday. I have not gotten the grade yet, but I did get some feedback. Picture to follow.

Decisions

Then we had the decision of which one to make into the 3D display. At first I wanted to do the Pompeii display, it seemed to be the most tricky (better grade I thought) but I ended up choosing the Bic Lighter for ease of use on the vendor side of setting up the display. I used my break time at work to make paper mock ups of both, to make sure I could make them to scale without wasting materials I would need to purchase for the project. Here is a picture of the paper mock ups:

Step 2

We once again had to pick three of the 20 to expand upon. Here are my three:

Shipper Display

On this assignment we needed 20 different types of shipper-displays for an impulse item that is usually sold at checkout counters. Here is what I turned in:

3 Shopping Bags

Here are the finished sketches of the 3 bags I chose to present to the client.

Shopping Bag Assignment

I am now in a class called Concept Development. One of our assignments was to come up with 20 sketches for shopping bags that are different than what is being used presently. Here are my 20 sketches, I could not come up with 20 different types of bags so I finished off with different types of designs.

Aionline PowerPoint Assignment

I have started back to school at the Pittsburgh Art Institute online. I will be posting some of my assignments so my family can see what I have been spending most of my time on.

One of our assignments was to do a Powerpoint presentation on a favorite Graphics Designer. I choose Yukio Miyamoto known for his work in Adobe Illustrator. Here is the presentation (with a little help from Yukio to get it uploaded)

Snow

Well we finally got some snow if you want to call it that. It was not much, but I'm sure everyone down here was excited to see it. At least the folks at work were looking forward to playing in it this morning. Of course by 9 AM it was totaly melted at my place. I did get a few pictures before the melt down.
The snow off of the cars made great snowballs!

Paris with her new toys

I think that Paris is getting more comfortable being here every day. I have been looking for items that will keep her busy while I am at work. I came across a Bird that is to be hunted. It makes a noise when it is moved. I think that she likes it.

Trip to Seattle

It was cold and damp in Seattle, but time was enjoyed by many. I got to see relatives, that I had not seen for many years and even a few that I had met for the first time. We took a few drives to scope out the area for another trip in June, when I hope the weather will be a little better. Since it was raining I could not get many pictures, but the few I was able to snap were pretty good.

I caught a wonderful picture of a lighthouse. Only at Christmas can you get a view like this!

Macy's star was a real eye catcher while driving through Seattle

Aunt E. had a very lovely tree, I wish I was better at taking pictures (out of focus on this one)

This is Cousin J's tree.

Christmas 2007

My Christmas tree was a small 24 inch type with lights already on it.

Since my Mom was visiting this Christmas, more decorating was done than I usually do. The Ficus tree even got into the spirit with lights as well.
