Decisions for the Final

I am having a hard time deciding which draft to post for the final.

Draft 1

Draft 2

Draft 3

Draft 4

Draft 5

And after some more modifications I came up with these:

Thumbnail designs in color for Final Project

Here is the design that most of the comments were for in color:

Now I wait to see what kind of reaction I get.

Decisions on Final Project

I really liked draft 3 (the first one I came up with) so I had started to add color and effects to it. I came up eith this:

Which then developed into this:

And finally into this design:

I used the color scheme of Analogous 2 with the stars in the outer circle. Split Complementary on the diamonds, and Pentagram to choose the background color. I like this design, but I needed to go with the class and instructor votes so....

Final Project Design Thumbnails

Taking into account all that has been gone over in this class and others we were to make a design in black. white, and gray that can be modified into a color design. I had a few designs that I came up with.

I decided not to submit the last design in the group, since it looked to much like the assignment form week 2 when we were given the example to color (transparency lesson).

So far Drafts 1 and 4 have gotten the most votes for the final project.

Transparency,Depth, and Vibration

With this assignment we were to design three different items with the effect of each listing.

Here is my Illusion of Transparency:

This one is for the Illusion of Depth:

And this is my Illusion of Visual Vibration:

The instructors comment was:
The first thing that my eye was drawn to regarding your posting is the depth example. Excellent use of color and all of the properties are well represented. Then comes the vibration example; I see we've got the peacock from hell so check that one off as totally effective.

Illusion of Transparency

I started out with these two designs:

I then decided to use the blue/red design for the assignment. After I saw a few other designs from the other students I figured my designs did not have the proper look of transparency. So instead of picking colors manually (like I thought the directions said to do) I used the tools in Illustrator to do the adjustments for me and came up with this design:

Two Colors Appear as the Same Color

With this assignment we needed to show how two different colors can look like the same color. This was easier for me than the assignment to have one color look as two.

One Color Appears as Two Colors

In this exercise we were to make one color appear as two colors, with four different designs. Here is what I came up with:

Digital Color Wheel

Our next assignment was to make a color wheel using either Adobe Illustrator or PhotoShop. I chose Illustrator and came up with this design:

The comments I got on the design were all favorable, it was well liked by the class and instructor.

Painted Color wheel

For this assignment we had to mix the primary colors of Red, Yellow and Blue to make our color wheel. This is how my wheel turned out. I added some graphic tape around the samples to give it a more finished look. The black colors in the middle are showing the difference between a mixed Black (on top) with an Ivory Black out of the tube (on bottom). I used gouache water paint for this assignment.

It took me a few days to get the colors painted without lines and or water marks. I was never really good with paint. I like colored pencils and pastel sticks much more than paint.

Color Theory for Web & Multimedia

Here are the three designs I posted for our week on color gradations.

After critiques it was suggested to modify two of the designs, so they are now looking like this:

Final

Here is what I submitted for my final.

After submitting the above design, i few suggestions were made for the fonts in the title and sub title so I resubmitted this one:

My Grade for this class was an A!

Pre final decisions

Well we are into the final week of classes and it has come down to picking the ad to submit for the final. Here are the two different layouts I will be deciding on which one to use.

Photo manipulation

This is the original picture I choose to work with. Patch and Mittens sitting together when they were 12. (not a common site)

Our assignment was to desaturate a color picture, use a twirl on the red channel and then document the changes that take effect, here is the photo after the adjustments.

Fire Type

Our next assignment was to make a sign with fire type and texture the word black. I used the word Peace for this one and used plastic as the texture for black.

I had so much fun doing the fire type I thought I would do a picture for a relative, I played a little and came up with these two designs.

Colorization of B&W photos

We are learning how to colorize a black & white photo. I had one from when I was little and used it. I will show both the original and the colored version.

Ice Cream ad x3

Here are my three drafts for the sketches I did earlier. We need to pick one to go forward with.

The BananaMan draft started out like this.

Serreal Environment

For this assignment I used a stock photo of Venus and other photos I had taken of my sister and her horses to make a fantasy of horseback riding on Venus.

Sketches for Ice Cream Ad

Here are my sketches for the ice cream ad, along with a logo. We had to scan these into the software so that the instructor could see our capabilities in this realm.

New Class, New Thought Process

I have a new tool to use with my computer. It is a tablet which lets me draw like I would on a piece of paper. For practice we had to draw something to do with an ad for an ice cream vendor. I thought of a building that would specialize in high end deserts, so I made a big top...

I also thought of having fruit characters promoting different deserts, like a banana split.

From the comments the BananaMan won.
