St Thomas

This is the port of St. Thomas viewed from the balcony of our room onboard the Destiny.

The ship docked while we were sleeping, so when we woke up we were ready to start our day of site seeing. After a good breakfast on the Lido deck we set out to ride a lift to the top of a mountain. From there the view was fabulous!

After our jaunt up and down the mountain we went shopping in some of the duty free shops that were located by the ship (the buildings with the red roofs). There were many shops for jewelry, be it for precious stones or gold. There was also a shop for Bernard K. Passman on the web at www.passman.com . He is known for his sculptures of many different items as well as his jewelry made of Black Coral. I saw this horse and liked it so much I had to have a picture of it. It was too expensive, for my budget, for me to own.

We purchased a few items in some of the shops and had a good day in the sun. We went back to the ship and had a late lunch, rested a bit, and got ready for an early dinner. On the cruise we had the best steward you could ask for. His name was Michael and he helped us out allot, since we were first time cruisers we had many questions. Our room was cleaned twice a day. While we were out on the islands and while we were at dinner. Upon returning from dinner the first night we found what I think was a walrus.
